I’m not against lowering the age as many young people want to be heard. And truthfully, politicians have grown too comfortable knowing youth often aren’t voting. Giving 16-year-olds the right to vote can shift that power dynamic. But here’s the catch: it can’t just be symbolic. Without Civic Education Reform, we’re handing over a right without the tools to use it. We need to teach the how, not just the what: - How government works - How to think critically - How to form opinions without political bias Habits built early stick for life, and voting is no exception.
