Lunar New Year is today (in the US) and is celebrated by many Asians across the world (i.e., Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, etc.). Growing up, my mother treated this event as Americans would treat Thanksgiving and Christmas. Although I don’t particularly celebrate (since my mother is not here with me), I want to acknowledge my root and respect those who celebrate.
