I’m going to say some things that others won’t say to you: 1.) Yes. It is okay to want to make more money. You shouldn’t ever feel guilty for wanting to elevate your career and earn more so you can live the life you desire. Stop letting people make you feel like “it’s not always about the money.” There is truth to that, sure. But your desire to earn more in order to provide for your family is not rooted in evil or greed. And many times it IS about the money. And that is okay. 2.) Audacity is not a bad word. Do not let anyone make you feel unworthy of anything that you have the guts to go after and get. Mediocre people are achieving extraordinary things on audacity alone. But you’ve got audacity, ambition, AND the skills to back it up. So go get what you desire and deserve. 3.) Working in tech may look glamorous, but it’s not for the faint of heart.
