Here’s my process for painting those blue hydrangeas on @cansonpaper Montval from @pulpandpigmentph.
It was one of those days when I wanted to let things flow and see what happens. So, no sketch. Just seeing how the colors unfold. Which is why at first you might see roses instead of hydrangeas 😅
I love how I was able to build up the colors slowly with a relaxed pace without having to worry if the paper would get dry before I’m done.
I also like that I was able to soften edges easily and “erase” some of the parts that I felt should be white. You’ll notice that I didn’t lift the colors entirely with a tissue as I wanted the corrections to look soft.
