I almost became a maternal mortality statistic as a Black mom. It was terrifying, eye-opening, and it taught me something important: black women need to crash out more often because WTH?! This is a reminder to speak up, advocate for yourself, and use whatever support you can get. There is no shame in asking for help, seeing specialists, or saying “I need attention” your life and your baby’s life are worth it. For the moms, what’s one thing you wish someone had told you about advocating for yourself during pregnancy or postpartum? For non-moms what’s something about maternal health you wish more people understood? Or something you’ve been curious about when it comes to pregnancy? Share this with someone you think we find this helpful💕 Side note: Lmao preparing for birth also meant doing my braids because I was not about to meet my bundle of joy, looking crusty as hell😂😂 . Thank you style.dbyomi for coming to the hospital #blackmom#pregnancytips#firsttimemom#newmoms
