Day 2 at NATO 🇪🇺⚔️
And wow… my entire perspective on cyber crisis response has shifted.
We were thrown into a live cyber crisis simulation, real-time pressure, incomplete information, conflicting priorities, and consequences that escalated FAST. This wasn’t theory. It was chaos… exactly how cyber incidents unfold in the real world.
Here’s what hit me the hardest:
🔹 Communication can save or sink you
Teams freeze when they don’t know what’s happening.
Silence = damage.
Sharing the right info at the right moment can be the difference between a crisis and a catastrophe.
🔹 Decisions have national impact
Every choice has ripple effects, public safety, government trust, critical infrastructure stability…
Cybersecurity is literally national security.
🔹 Ransomware isn’t a “technical issue”
It affects hospitals, water, electricity, and everyday lives.
Tech, legal, public comms, leadership, politics… all collide in seconds.
🔹 Interoperability is everything
Allies don’t defend alone.
