Delete ≠ Erased… It’s not gone forever! When you Delete in Photos, your iPhone moves that file to Recently Deleted for 30 days… then it’s wiped from your live library. If iCloud Photos is ON, that deletion syncs across all devices. If it’s OFF, your photos may still live inside iCloud Backups from before… and Apple can retain those backups for up to 180 days if you switch backups off. If you want a true clean slate: 1. Delete → Empty Recently Deleted 2. Check iCloud.com → Photos 3. If you’ve ever used iCloud without iCloud Photos, delete old iCloud Backups that captured those pics 4.
