Why doesn’t the sight of children riddled with pellets, women whose bodies have been torn apart with blades and knives, and a man whose throat has been slit and whose body has been struck with an axe plunge the world into shock? Why has the world fallen silent when every second a human being is tortured and killed in the most brutal way imaginable? This silence is not neutrality. The silence of people around the world in the face of the most brutal contemporary crimes and the genocide of Iranians is a sign of support for— or at the very least complicity with— the Islamic Republic. We will take back our country, with or without the support of the world. But we will not forget our friends, and we will not forget our enemies.
