Yet, I wore it as a badge of honor. Yes, I am strong, and yes, I am independent, but I am also so much more than that. HOWEVER, it was the only way I knew how to function and the only way I allowed others to see me. . I would "proactively '' hide my vulnerabilities, feelings and a range of emotions out of fear, insecurity and in order to protect myself from potential pain, disappointment or hurt. I have moments of strength, and I have moments of weakness. . I had to learn it's okay not to be strong all the time. It's okay to ask for help, to lean on others, and to show vulnerability.
