A creative and soon to be Dr. AEL🤎 Conference Day For the past few months I’ve been co-planning the 5th Black Lives Matter Day event at umassboston with the provost office and my goal was to use my network and skills to bring more creativity to academia… and God, the room was at capacity 🥹 Planning one of the biggest events on campus had its challenges and I even had to put my PhD dissertation in the backseat but I did this with all my heart because this is also a representation of my work merge creativity and academia. This was the first time, I showed up to campus where I did not have to hide my creativity side. Throughout my academic career, I’ve been in business school for undergrad and my masters so I’ve always felt out of place. But I owe it to myself for taking a break from school and doing the work to show up in traditional spaces as my full authentic self.
