Enough with the cat jokes, you’re actively contributing to amplifying negative stories about a community that is already in the midst of political chaos. I sat here and contemplated if I wanted to say anything at all. I took a break from the other app because frankly, even with my big sense of humor, I can’t get myself to laugh at the countless cat jokes. Simply because I am aware of the harm that false narratives have caused to my community in the past. Have you notice that Haitian immigrants are always at the roots of American political chaos unprovoked? Haitians have been falsely accused of bringing HIV to the U.S., cannibalism, casted as illegal immigrants, devil worshipers and the list goes on. I have been very strategic with how and who I spend my time with and what I consume. I have a choice with how I engage with information.
