Our Parents fought hard to raise independent daughters. And they did.
Look around, women are leading in every field, breaking barriers... changing the world.
I’m a product of that revolution, and I’m grateful every day for the sacrifices the generations before me made.
But now, as a first-time mom to a baby boy, a new question daunts at me
Are we raising the sons who can stand beside these daughters, not just as partners, but as equals?
In our fight to empower girls, did we teach boys how to support, respect, and share space with empowered women?
Did we show them how to be vulnerable?
Did we model what emotional intelligence looks like?
Did we give them permission to be soft and strong?
Somewhere along the way, maybe we forgot to ask.
Now, holding my son, the weight of it feels bigger than anything I’ve ever carried.
I don’t have the answers.
Only the questions for now...
But maybe that’s where it begins.
