It can present differently in every child, and sometimes the signs are very subtle. 🩺Treatment needs to start with an osmotic laxative. It is very difficult to relieve constipation in a child who is backed up with poo through fluids and diet alone. Children who are full of poo can have diminished appetite- saying they feel full after a bite of food, may have tummy pain and generally in bad form. Many parents report a positive change in mood and appetite once that back log is cleared.
