Correct position when pooing in their nappy or on the loo is really important!
When wearing a nappy or pull up ideally you would like to see your child squatting to poo.
You might not think your child is having any poo issue because they are passing poo every day but just not squatting to do it. But if they are adopting a different position such as standing *, up on their tippy toes, on all fours, sitting on their bum with their legs out poker straight then they may find that transition to pooing on a potty difficult.
Squatting helps relax the puborectalis muscle, allowing the rectum and anus to straighten naturally. There shouldn’t be any discomfort, straining or pushing.
