Idiopathic constipation is very common in children with 1:3
Children affected.
Be aware of the signs of constipation and remember the use of an osmotic laxative is the recommended first line treatment. Fluids diet and a good toileting routine are equally as important but can be hard to implement when your child is full of poo, has a crap appetite, is irritable and is afraid to let out that poo. Shift that backlog first and then work on everything else whilst on a maintenance dose of laxative.
