“Family Matters.” The title says what it means, and maybe what it doesn’t mean out loud. Because family does matter, deeply, complexly, beautifully. And also: families have matters. The unspoken stuff. The glances. The weather inside the rooms. These images are my attempt to capture that delicate balance, love and formality, closeness and distance, pride and mystery. Coats buttoned up tight. Hands full, hands empty. Everyone standing still, but not necessarily standing together. Posed like on a theatre set - with dropped shadows and a view to the audience. You. It’s about what gets passed down, and what gets left unsaid.
