It reminded us that even in the fog of dementia, love still lingers somewhere underneath. With dementia, you brace yourself for the day they forget your name. Then your siblings. Then even themselves. There are days she looks at us like strangers. Days where familiar faces bring no recognition. That kind of forgetting... it aches in ways I can’t explain.
