I still feel crushed just looking at Mommy. I can't understand why. Here I am waking her up, convincing her to brush her teeth, on my 3rd try to get her to bathe, calming her when she’s scared. When she's in a good mood, I'm perplexed when she says, "ok mother!" While listening my instruction. No one talks about this part. The grief that comes while they’re still here. The strength it takes to stay soft when you’re tired. The love that keeps showing up, even when they don’t remember you.
