With Amelia Earhart being in the news again because there’s a new lead on where her plane may be, I wanted to reshare this reel on one of my OTHER favorite bits of Amelia history - her fashion career. The ways in which Amelia left the world better than when she entered it are endless, but there is something about her not only being a fashion designer and providing those patterns to women for almost no charge, that is perhaps my favorite thing about her legacy. I don’t know if we will ever truly find out where he plane ended up, or why 100 distress calls were ignored and most importantly - why the world played such a cruel joke on a woman so important. But the one thing I know for certain is that no matter how tragic her life ended, it is what she managed to do while she was alive, that will forever be an important contribution to women for years to come. #ameliaearhart #history #fashionhistory #womenshistory #losangeles
