Music’s been my heartbeat for as long as I can remember. My parents had The Beatles playing before I was even born. I grew up on the road with my dad’s bands, napping in his bass drum, living off PB&Js from the band’s cardboard box of food. By age five, I’d been in more bars and clubs than most people hit by graduation. Growing up in ‘90s Seattle, musicians weren’t mythical—they were the neighbors. Literally. Members of Nevermore and Cannibal Corpse lived upstairs. I saw Prince at seven. Heard Black Sabbath at eleven. And nothing’s been the same since.
