AD | I was invited to spend a weekend with my husband in the cabin that Charlie Chaplin used to bring his mistresses to, and honestly, I can’t think of a partnership more on brand for me.
@huttopiacanadausa is a truly special property located in the San Gabriel Mountains. It continues a legacy over 100 years old of rest, relaxation, and far less debauchery than it saw in its heyday back in the 1920s and 1930s when Hollywood elite used to come up to partake in less than pure activities.
The resort is famous for its tent cabins, but there is one original stone and wood cabin you can still rent - this one. Originally it was the film star Noah Beery Sr.’s personal cabin, but Charlie Chaplin would often take his mistresses here, even constructing the wooden staircase to the second floor to provide the women a quick escape should his wife show up unexpectedly.
Huttopia is a French-owned company and we can thank that fact for the cheeky sign on the stairs, great food including croissant...
