What if I told you I think this might be one of the most historically interesting apartment buildings in Hollywood? Welcome to the Montecito Apartments. Opened in 1931, designed by Marcus P. Miller, and sadly only ever gets talked about for its connections to people like Ronald Reagan and Mickey Rooney when some truly ODD people slumbered, partied, and even died here. So, if you’ll indulge me, here are some of the stories that don’t always get told about this stunning Art Deco beauty on Franklin Ave. Side note: there is SO much amazing history here that if y’all want more let me know, this location might deserve its own blog post! 🖤 ✨Sources - Patt Morrison “Hollywood Haunt Makes a Comeback” March 12th, 1987, latimes.com - @etandoesla#68: Montecito Apartments (Hollywood)” Jan 30th, 2022 etadoesla.com - LA Times Archives - Daily News Archives - buildingsdb.com/CA/los-angeles/montecito-apartments - npgallery.nps.gov/GetAsset/964b2e84-525f-4c6c-9ecc-ee1d782b9931 -...
