I randomly stopped by Safeway and stumbled across beef plate ribs on sale for $5 a pound. I asked the butcher for uncut plate beef ribs and he brought out four of them. I did not hesitate and took all of them. These usually go for $9.99 a pound or more. I fired up the Weber Searwood XL and smoked three racks for family and friends while we watched the 49ers get destroyed by the Seahawks. Oh well. At least the ribs and the company were perfect, and I had a great time hanging out during my last days before heading back to work. Beef ribs are still my favorite cut for BBQ. Always have been and probably always will be.
