This moment right here. I have a million words to say about what went into this moment. It’s something I’ve dreamed about since I was young & before I had ever touched a fly rod (every night no lie)! And now….on my 40th Birthday citadelmarineservices & I made my dream reality. I still can’t fully compose my thoughts because I’m still on ☁️9 and tear up everytime I look at this picture! I’ll for sure share more of the backstory behind this fish and how long I’ve been working for this soon! I’ve caught plenty of redfish on spin….they are the fish that made me fall in love with fishing in the beginning, but FINALLY on FLY! But know this…we didn’t see any redfish this evening for 3 hours UNTIL we spotted this guy tailing in the grass….literally the last few min of daylight. I’ve attempted this shot a few times over the years, but couldn’t ever get it done! That pressure that comes with sight fishing! 😅 I had one shot at this red and I actually MADE the cast!!!!
