What is a go to fly you have in your box?!? A fly that you may not use everytime you fish, but always have on hand…. If you are new to trout fishing on fly like me…..then you KNOW how overwhelming it can be to learn about flies when you are just trying your hardest to wade the river and make a roll cast without getting in the tree. I hate to break it to you, but if you hope to go out on your own…without a guide & catch…you will at least need to know the basics about what fly to use in what conditions, what time of year, and at what kind of stream ( is it wild water or stocked water?). This has been an extremely long learning process for me…which is now why I’m sharing what I’ve learned as a newbie with you!
