I set out on my inshore charter yesterday with one thing on my mind….redfish on fly! After catching one on fly the wind Gods were really picking on me and I had to end up spinning to win 😏 It took me a little bit to get used to using a spin rod again…it’s been over a year! Glad I switched because I ended up catching several reds, a flounder & this GATOR trout to complete the inshore slam! Even though I set out on a redfish mission, this speckled trout might have been my favorite bite/fight of the day! I thought for sure it was an over slot redfish, but when I saw it was my personal best speck I was beyond excited! I’m working on making a reel of my trip, but I’m exhausted. Just got back to Asheville & already missing the coast!
