After my M.Arch, I studied a MFA-PA, which permits the doing of this kind of thing. A solitary act, coalescing expertise in both disciplines. Urban fabric as vehicle for a conversation on authorship and authority, communicated through an act of defacement for personal and civic joy or contempt.
It’s part of an ongoing Public Art series, a component of my recent works - where I photograph found objects that have my name written on it. It’s not street art, it’s fine art; and also, it has my name on it.
If you don’t understand it, know that it’s a personal, serendipitous encounter - that for a migrant POC - is nice and welcoming. That’s why I love this place. As you might already assume, I did not go to VCA, sadly.
