This week, I had the privilege of advocating on Capitol Hill, meeting with the offices of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Representative Jerry Nadler, and Representative Grace Meng to urge support for policies that protect children with cancer. For me, this work is personal. Every child deserves access to the best possible care—no matter where they live, their family’s financial situation, or the complexity of their diagnosis. But right now, too many families are facing impossible choices when it comes to treatment access, research funding, and healthcare coverage. No parent should ever have to fight this hard to get their child the care they need and every person, on both sides of the aisle, should be doing all we can to ensure children have access to the care, research, and funding that they deserve.
