Cornmeal dumplings in greens aren’t just comfort food, it’s Black history in a pot. This dish was born from resilience, resourcefulness, and generations of Black families making something filling and flavorful out of very little.
Cornmeal was affordable and accessible, greens were often the only vegetables we could grow and together they became a soul food tradition passed down at the table.
Food tells our story. These are the memories on a plate I love to preserve.
