I was hyped for the ROG Xbox Ally… but does it actually live up to it? Yes and no. It’s comfy (imagine an xbox controller with a screen in the middle) and the Xbox Full Screen Experience makes it more handheld-friendly, but yep… still Windows with all the same quirks. Performance is also nothing to write home about, most games will run at 720p on low-to-medium graphics. If you don’t mind tinkering and are comfortable with Windows, it can be a great way to get your gaming fix while on the go.
