.. was just randomly scrolling today when it hit me that I totally missed posting anything on National Ink Day (July 17). Ever since I got married, I’ve had the privilege (🫥) of random people and aunties yanking my hands mid-conversation to ask, “Yeh sab kya likh rakha hai?” “Why so much ink?” “What does it mean?” Apparently, as a married woman, I’m supposed to have bangles jingling on my wrists 24/7; not ink that tells my story. (Also, I’m literally allergic to most metals, but sure, let’s focus on aesthetics.) The thing is, my love, my darling patooties, the nosy aunties; tattoos are deeply personal. They’re not random doodles to look cool (although even if they are, it’s none of your business). Every word, symbol, and line on my skin holds something I couldn’t say out loud for years.
