Since we are talking about rape culture in the country, and since every
#YesAllWomen in India 🇮🇳 are triggered and enraged beyond a point right now, let’s go back a little.
The 2012 Delhi gang rape and murder incident, commonly known as the Nirbhaya case, when Jyoti Singh, a 22-year-old physiotherapy intern, was beaten, gang-raped, and tortured in a private bus in which she was travelling with her male friend.
Her name was Jyoti btw, not Nirbhaya. No woman in the country can ever be “Nirbhaya”. Nirbhaya means without fear. Sorry, none of us are without fear here.
Anyway, as a media student in Delhi, I did join the protests because I was disgusted and enraged. I was 19 then. A 19 year old girl, who witnessed men touching women inappropriately IN THE PROTESTS.
