📍FROM BANKING TO PUBLIC SERVICE
When I transitioned from banking to public service, many assumed I had changed professions.
In truth, I carried the same principles with me.
The operating environment changed.
The discipline did not.
Here are three lessons that transferred seamlessly:
1. Structure is non-negotiable.
Without governance frameworks, even good intentions collapse. Institutions do not run on passion alone — they run on systems.
2. Brand is reputation capital.
In banking, trust drives deposits.
In public service, trust drives legitimacy.
Reputation is not cosmetic. It is currency.
3. Performance must be measurable.
Impact must move beyond speeches into systems.
Results must be structured, tracked, and institutionalised.
Titles changed.
Discipline did not.
Leadership travels well when it is rooted in structure.
