Becoming the best in any field requires a level of curiosity that most people don’t have. Beginners and the best alike are both willing to do what it takes to get better. While beginners know that they’re not good yet, the best seem to have not gotten the memo that they are. They are too busy looking for ways to get better and aren’t stricken with the curse of competence that prevents most from progressing. The more a person learns, the more they are able to recognize what they don’t know.
