Novelty seeking is a dopamine driven process which is why it has a high failure rate when it comes to performance; something different is needed. The neurotransmitters serotonin and oxytocin make up the H&N circuits. H&N stands for here and now and when these circuits are active the dopamine circuits, which are concerned with the future, are suppressed.
