@MartinStringerPhotography: “Here are two spectacular cassowaries in the Daintree Rainforest, one of the most biodiverse rainforests in the world.
.
This is a good thing as there are less than 4,000 cassowaries left worldwide. We must protect their habitat as they are vital to rainforest regeneration and the ecosystem. By eating fruits, the seeds are later dispersed in their scats (droppings) and actually plant more trees in the rainforest.
.
It’s important that cassowaries have a large amount of habitat.
@rainforestrescueau is helping to protect areas of high conservation in the Daintree Rainforest. Their projects re-establish rainforests through planting, maintenance and restoration programs, as well as purchasing and protecting high conservation value rainforest and preserving its biodiversity.”
