@RonnyHansenPhotography:
“The tropical rainforest is the beating heart of our planet. When it is left to itself or when used and cared for by the indigenous peoples who live there, it is magical and magnificent! Its biodiversity and importance for our shared planet's climate are unparalleled. It is home to nearly half of the plants and wildlife on Earth and performs an essential function for the climate by absorbing carbon dioxide.
.
The rainforest creates its own rain and pumps rainfall to the surrounding areas, benefiting agriculture and cities. Still, more than half of it has been destroyed by human activity over the last half-century. Deforestation causes 15% of all human-induced carbon emissions.”
