It’s our anniversary y’all! And I still haven’t finished the apartment. 🤣🥹 Y’all this series has been such a blessing to me. Not just in brand deals, but the joy I’ve gotten from making something out of a season that I struggled a lot to be in. The last fives years it was easy to watch people buy homes, settle in new spaces and wonder if you’ll make enough one day to leave the hood. But the more I worked on this apartment, the more gratitude and joy I built within my home. And I’m not gonna lie, living on this block comes with a lot of discomfort and discouragement. I call 311 each month to complain and hopefully it brings some change to our community. But in mean time, i want my home to be space that continue to overflow with joy. It’s been a reminder that my kids are happy, they feel safe and creativity is constantly happening around them, that in itself is a blessing.
