I often get asked what the kids do during screen free hours, the truth is most of the time I lead one activity and after that I leave them to figure it out. We aren’t a screen free home completely, we think tech is great and we want our boys to learn to have limits for themselves with them. The kids get screen time during 12pm & 5pm for an hour and half. That felt like a good time for our family. Some days they watch with us, and other times we pick a show for them and just let them hang. Each of our boys have different temperaments when it comes to screen time. Our two youngest can go the whole day without screen time, but our oldest is a frequent asker. So we wanted to also meet whatever sensory input he may need. He’s also seven, so he goes between video games and watching shows.
