Young people make up 16% of the global population. Averting the worst threats and challenges to sustainable development, including impacts of climate change and gender inequality, requires input from young people. But we have to give them a fair shot at quality education and decent jobs. ⠀ ⠀ According to the World Youth Report, 1 in 4 high school aged youths do not attend school. Enrollment is the lowest where youth’s skills are needed the most. Moreover, less half of youth are employed—and among those with a job, 1 in 6 live in poverty. These metrics highlight the potential of young people if they are given the opportunity.
