🇬🇧 We were undecided whether to go to Bologna, Venice, etc .. in the end Bergamo won (as some of you have already seen in the stories). Starting from Lower Bergamo to go to Upper Bergamo, the passage through the San Giacomo gate is practically mandatory .. and it always takes my breath away. The walls that surround Bergamo are called Venetian walls because Bergamo was the westernmost outpost of the Serenissima (Venice). From the walls, a UNESCO heritage site, you can also see the Madonnina of Milan on a clear day. In my "to do list" there is also a picnic along the walls in spring, possibly around sunset .. if you are not equipped do not worry the Cozzi winery provides them 😉. PS the trip to Bergamo proceeds in the next post 🇮🇹 Eravamo indecisi se andare a Bologna, Venezia, etc.. alla fine ha vinto Bergamo (come alcuni di voi hanno già visto nelle storie). Partendo da Bergamo bassa per andare a Bergamo Alta, il passaggio dalla porta di San Giacomo è praticamente obbligatorio.....
