This morning as I was preparing to do laundry after a long shift yesterday, I found myself staring at a pile of "things" that I had thrown on the ground when I got home last night. In this small pile was my badge. On this badge is a Black and Blue ribbon that has been worn since January. For not just one officer, but for every officer who has ever been killed in the line of duty. I couldn't help but to think about what our ED and surrounding Public Safety Departments recently experienced at the beginning of this year. Within a few short seconds, many emotions ran through my body as I remembered how much devastation there was and what the people of Dallas must be feeling on a larger scale. Today, I sit here and think about what the families, friends, coworkers, and surrounding communities feel in Texas. After reading, watching, and listening to the news coming out of Dallas, my thoughts and prayers are being sent to each and every individual involved in this tragedy. May you all find P...
