#TBT Last year, we profiled nine @UnitedNations #humanitarian workers who are making a difference in lives around the world, such as helping provide food to #refugees. Jairus, who works as a logistics officer at a refugee camp in #Kenya for @worldfoodprogramme_official, told us about his job choice: “After college I wanted to be self-employed in the IT field, and so I wanted a short-term job to enable me to save…and start an office. In 2001, I joined WFP (with) a three-month contract under the Kenya (office). I was posted in Tana River, one of the hunger-affected regions at that time …where the only source of food was WFP relief assistance. This touched me so much. By the end of the third month I was no longer dreaming of self-employment, but how to save lives. That was my turning point to become a committed humanitarian worker, which I have done for over 15 years now.” #sharehumanity
