The FIRST thing I do when I get new plants is… Unpot them! So much can be learned by seeing the soil and roots. You might find that the plant is rootbound and needs a bigger pot. You might find that the plant is actually just a bunch of cuttings and doesn’t need as big of a pot as it came in. I also like to unpot to remove the original soil and plant the plant in my preferred mix since that’s what works best for my care routine. Once I repot, then I’ll water and spray down the plants to remove any pests or as a preventative.
