THIS PLANT HAS MEALY BUGS 😭 | follow @reenasplants for daily plant care tips! Usually when my plants have pests, I take a few cuttings and then throw away the main plant because I don’t want to risk pest spreading to my other plants, and it’s often hard to get rid of the pests. BUT, this plant is so lush, and I love it so much that I was willing to put in a lot of effort to get rid of the mealy bugs. šŸ’š 1. Every few days, I would inspect as many leaves as I could and remove the mealy bugs with either an alcohol pad (I find them at CVS and they’re called alcohol prep pads) or a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol. It’s gonna be time-consuming and tedious, but it’s the best way to get rid of the large clumps that are visible. šŸ’š 2. Since this plant is large, and there’s a lot of nooks and crannies, it’s impossible to get every single one with a Q-tip.
