Usually when my plants have pests, I take a few cuttings and then throw away the main plant because I donāt want to risk pest spreading to my other plants, and itās often hard to get rid of the pests.
BUT, this plant is so lush, and I love it so much that I was willing to put in a lot of effort to get rid of the mealy bugs.
š 1. Every few days, I would inspect as many leaves as I could and remove the mealy bugs with either an alcohol pad (I find them at CVS and theyāre called alcohol prep pads) or a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol. Itās gonna be time-consuming and tedious, but itās the best way to get rid of the large clumps that are visible.
š 2. Since this plant is large, and thereās a lot of nooks and crannies, itās impossible to get every single one with a Q-tip. So, my next step is to spray the whole plant down with a dilated alcohol spray. Make sure to get in all of the nooks and crannies, and a...
