When nobody tried my cake at KitchenAid’s Dessert Table (inspired by the viral Cake Picnic), I felt like a failure. 😞 As a cake business owner, I would want to bring joy to people. Jelly cakes are something still new to many so I thought about letting other cake lovers try my rendition of jelly + sponge cake. It was many hours of preparation from cooking the jelly to preparing the sponge base. Even though I messed up along the way, I still showed up to the event. It was really quite disheartening to see my cake being left alone and seeing others just go for the bakers which were more “famous”, but maybe every unnoticed creation is just a step closer to the right people.
