I received one of the most thoughtful gifts this year. Some context; Tsuda Umeko was a trail blazer in the 19th century in Japan, she dedicated her life to championing education and empowerment for women. She also founded Tsuda University, a pivotal institution in advancing women’s rights and education in Japan. Centuries later- This year, she was honored for her contributions by being featured on the 5000 Yen currency note. This gift sits on my desk, to serve as a constant reminder that the impact of our contributions today, will shape the generations to come; so we keep striving and thriving.
