A day in the life - summit version.
Truth is — I’m not the biggest fan of summits and conferences. So much talk, so little follow-through sometimes. But over the years, I’ve found a rhythm that works for me and delivers results.
Before any summit, I take time to go through the program: who’s speaking, who’s sponsoring, what sessions align with my work and who’s attending — that helps me prep better.
I split my networking game into two: existing connections and new ones.
For the existing folks, I’ll usually shoot a quick message before the event (WhatsApp or email) to say I’ll be around. That way, we reconnect with purpose — and I have more time to meet new people.
For new connections, I keep it short and sweet:
Quick intro. What I do. Where I see potential synergy.
I then request for their contact, WhatsApp preferably- snap a picture, and try wrap it up in under 5 minutes.
The key? I follow up with a message after sharing a link to what we’re doing + the photo we took!
