some people go around the world for love, then some people go for purpose…
i’m blessed to have and continue to go for both. as i got closer to the new year i felt a deep desire to disconnect so, i spent a month unplugged from the world and it led me back to my favorite continent.
there, i was challenged to embrace what i couldn’t control and what i no longer felt the need to. i celebrated the life of one of my earthly creators and mourned my ancestors who legacies continue to live on through me.
for the first time in a long time, i didn’t feel the weight of my world or anyone else’s… *sigh*
what a reminder that presence is often a gift that we so easily take for granted.
there, i realized that trying to “keep up” or “stay caught up,” is actually keeping you behind. a lot of other harsh truths came to mind, but this stands out most.
