In 2015, the UK became the first country in the world to routinely vaccinate babies against MenB - but if you were born before 2015, you were never offered it. Following the Kent outbreak, the JCVI is now reviewing whether MenB vaccines should be offered more widely to young adults. A mother who lost her 18-year-old son to meningitis B is calling for a catch-up vaccination programme for all young people up to age 23 - because no family should lose a child to a disease when a vaccine exists but wasn't offered to their generation.
